BENGALURU — Grocery.ai founder Pivot Prakash has raised ₹40 crore for AGENT-01, an autonomous employee whose responsibilities will be decided after it begins demonstrating results.
The funding followed a 96-slide presentation in which the agent appeared as a glowing electric-blue circle connected to the words UNDERSTANDS, DECIDES, EXECUTES and SCALES. The slides contained no screens showing it doing any of these things.
An investor asked which AI model powered the product. Prakash replied, “The funding model,” and received the loudest applause of the morning.
“A narrow use case is simply a small valuation wearing technical clothes.”
Prakash said assigning the agent a specific task would unfairly limit its total addressable market. It would instead understand the business, coordinate departments, improve morale and remove the need for employees who kept asking what it did.
When senior engineer Arjun Backend asked which business process should be automated first, Prakash replied, “The high-impact one,” and advanced to the valuation slide.
The company’s earlier identities include social commerce, Web3 logistics, climate-conscious retail and personalised vegetable intelligence. Prakash described them as “different camera angles on the same inevitability.”
AGENT-01 was added to the organisation chart as Vice President, Autonomous Outcomes. Grocery.ai’s valuation rose twelve percent before the repository was created. Prakash called the absence of a product further proof that the company was operating ahead of the market.
